When I think of the word ergonomic, my office chair and keyboard come to mind far before beauty accoutrements. I also, admittedly, think of my boss, who is constantly briefing me on how important body alignment is for my overall productivity by easing those awful hunched-over-my-desk-all-day-while-performing-meaningless-tasks-for-her aches and pains.
But while I'm not entirely sure whether it's my cushy chair or my desire to leave work as quickly as possible that makes me work faster, I do know that my back doesn't hurt anymore. And as I recently discovered, bad office furniture isn't the only thing that can mess up your posture. The DIY pedicure happens to be a total killer twisting into a pretzel position to buff and polish your feet is enough to induce serious cramps. But thanks to Revlon, it may be a thing of the past.
They've teamed up with Metaphase, an ergonomic design company to develop a line of strain-free pedicure tools. The Expert Effect collection, which includes everything from callus shavers to toenail clippers, is made to eliminate uncomfortable bending. The Flexi-Buff Foot File and Hands-Free Foot Smoother are true ergonomic wonders; both allow you to smooth rough feet while sitting up straight and relaxed. So, I guess my boss was right (for a change). CYNTHIA TAYLOR
