Podcasting is a method of distributing multimedia files, such as audio programs or videos, over the Internet for playback on computers and mobile devices . The distribution format of a podcast uses RSS (Real Simple Syndication). This means that once you have subscribed to a Podcast ‘Channel’, you will automatically receive new ‘Episodes’ in that channel as soon as they become available.

So how do I get the Nylon Podcast?
You need to have reliable internet access (adsl or broadband is best) and Podcast software on your computer. We recommend using Apple iTunes, because it is FREE, available for both Mac AND PC and has a whole bunch of playback features that others don’t. Once you have iTunes installed, you need to subscribe to the Nylon Aust/NZ Channel, which can be done in a few ways.

Or go to the iTunes Music Store (built into the software) and type in “Nylon Magazine” into the search window and the Nylon Aust/NZ Podcast will come up in the list. Click on Subscribe Or if none of this works, you can go to the drop down menu “Advanced -> subscribe to podcast” and paste in this:

You will now receive each new episode of the Nylon Aust/NZ Podcast as it is released (usually a week before the print issue hits the stands). You can watch the podcast in iTunes or have it copy automatically to your iPod (if you have one) next time you dock it with your computer and watch it when you want and where you want! Here’s a tip: if you are watching it on your computer in iTunes, click on the small video window in the bottom left corner and it will play in a resizable window. You can even download back-issues of the podcast, by clicking the “GET” button in the podcast section of iTunes, so you won’t miss out, episodes stay available for 12 months.
