NYLON U.S.'s lovely photo director Stacey Mark first photographed Italian actress Asia Argento in a Toronto hotel room in 2004.
Since then, Mark has shot Argento in a motel in L.A. and in an apartment in Paris, and the results have been published in magazines around the world. However, those pictures represent only a tiny selection of the arresting images that Mark captured; it makes sense, then, that her debut solo exhibition is devoted exclusively to Argento.
Titled "Some Girls Wander by Mistake" (after a Sisters of Mercy album), the exhibition shows just how intimate a portrait can be when the subject is at total ease with the photographer. "She's undoubtedly the most beautiful, enigmatic, and interesting woman I have ever photographed," says Mark. "I can't think of a better subject for a show like this than her." ACTON BELL
